Engineering Manager

We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager - Data Engineering to lead the design, development, and delivery of scalable data platforms and pipelines on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in batch and real-time streaming architectures, data warehousing, cloud-native technologies, and team leadership. This role requires managing a team of data engineers while driving technical excellence and business outcomes.
Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a team of Data Engineers, providing technical guidance and career development.
Design and implement scalable batch and streaming data pipelines on GCP.
Architect and manage enterprise-grade data platforms using cloud-native technologies.
Build and optimise ETL/ELT frameworks for large-scale data processing.
Develop real-time data ingestion and processing solutions using streaming technologies.
Collaborate with Product, Analytics, Data Science, and Engineering teams to deliver business-critical data solutions.
Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance standards are met.
Drive best practices in software engineering, CI/CD, monitoring, and observability.
Manage project delivery, sprint planning, resource allocation, and stakeholder communication.
Optimise platform performance, reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency.
