Senior Principal Engineer - iOS

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Principal Engineer - iOS to lead the design, development, and evolution of large-scale mobile applications. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in iOS development, mobile architecture, and engineering best practices while driving technical excellence across the organisation. As a senior technical leader, you will be responsible for architecting scalable solutions, mentoring engineers, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver world-class mobile experiences.
Responsibilities:
Lead the architecture, design, and development of complex iOS applications.
Drive technical strategy and engineering best practices across the iOS platform.
Design scalable, maintainable, and high-performance mobile solutions.
Collaborate with Product, Design, Backend, and QA teams to deliver high-quality products.
Review architecture, code quality, performance, and security standards.
Mentor senior engineers and contribute to the growth of the engineering organisation.
Drive innovation in mobile architecture, performance optimisation, and user experience.
Participate in technical discussions, design reviews, and engineering decision-making.
Ensure application reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
Requirements:
11+ years of experience in iOS application development.
Strong expertise in Swift and modern iOS development practices.
Hands-on experience with MVVM, VIPER, and scalable mobile architectures.
Strong experience with SwiftUI and UIKit.
Deep understanding of iOS frameworks, design patterns, and application lifecycle.
Experience building and scaling enterprise-grade or consumer-facing mobile applications.
Strong understanding of performance optimisation, memory management, and multithreading.
Experience with REST APIs, networking, offline data management, and mobile security.
Ability to drive architecture discussions and technical leadership initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working on large-scale applications serving millions of users.
Exposure to modular architecture and reusable component design.
Experience mentoring engineering teams and influencing technical direction.
Strong understanding of CI/CD pipelines and mobile release processes.
