Principal iOS Engineer

We are looking for a highly skilled Principal iOS Engineer to lead the design, architecture, and development of scalable mobile applications used by millions of customers. The ideal candidate should have extensive experience building high-performance iOS applications in product-based environments and possess strong expertise in VIPER and MVVM architecture patterns.
Responsibilities:
Lead the architecture, design, and development of large-scale iOS applications.
Drive engineering excellence, code quality, performance optimisation, and application scalability.
Define and implement mobile architecture using VIPER and MVVM design patterns.
Collaborate closely with Product, Design, Backend, and QA teams to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
Mentor senior engineers and establish engineering best practices.
Conduct architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions.
Build reusable components and frameworks to accelerate development.
Ensure application security, reliability, maintainability, and performance.
Evaluate and implement modern mobile technologies and development methodologies.
Requirements:
11-14 years of overall software development experience with a strong focus on iOS development.
Expert-level proficiency in Swift and iOS SDK.
Strong hands-on experience with VIPER and MVVM architecture patterns.
Deep understanding of UIKit, SwiftUI, Auto Layout, and modern iOS frameworks.
Experience with REST APIs, GraphQL, WebSockets, and mobile networking.
Strong knowledge of multithreading, memory management, concurrency, and performance optimisation.
Experience with Dependency Injection, Modular Architecture, and Design Patterns.
Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing.
Strong understanding of App Store deployment and release management processes.
Product Engineering Experience:
Must have worked with B2C, D2C, or Consumer Internet Product Companies.
Experience building applications serving large user bases with high traffic volumes.
Strong focus on customer experience, performance, and product scalability.
Experience working in Agile product development environments.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
Experience with SwiftUI adoption in enterprise-scale applications.
Exposure to Mobile Analytics, A/B Testing, Feature Flags, and Experimentation Platforms.
Experience integrating AI-powered features, recommendation engines, or personalisation solutions is a plus.
Prior experience leading teams and driving mobile engineering strategy.
