Data Engineering Manager

We are seeking a highly experienced Data Engineering Manager to lead the design, development, and management of enterprise-scale data platforms and analytics solutions. This role is ideal for a technology leader who can combine deep technical expertise with strong people management skills to build scalable, reliable, and high-performance data ecosystems.
As a Data Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for driving the organization's data engineering strategy, managing high-performing engineering teams, and building modern data platforms that enable advanced analytics, business intelligence, and AI/ML initiatives. You will collaborate closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Analytics, and Business stakeholders to ensure data is accessible, reliable, secure, and scalable across the organization.
The core responsibilities for the job include the following:
Leadership and Team Management:
Lead, mentor, and manage a team of Data Engineers and Technical Leads.
Define engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines.
Conduct performance reviews, career development planning, and technical coaching.
Build and scale high-performing engineering teams.
Data Platform Architecture:
Design and implement enterprise-scale data platforms and data lake architectures.
Drive modernization of data infrastructure using cloud-native technologies.
Establish scalable data models and data governance frameworks.
Ensure high availability, reliability, and performance of data systems.
Data Engineering and ETL Development:
Architect and oversee large-scale ETL/ELT pipelines.
Develop robust data ingestion, transformation, and processing frameworks.
Optimize batch and real-time data processing systems.
Drive automation and standardization across data engineering processes.
Cloud and Big Data Technologies:
Lead implementation of cloud-based data solutions on AWS, Azure, or GCP.
Manage data warehouses, data lakes, and distributed processing environments.
Ensure efficient utilization of cloud resources while optimizing costs.
Stakeholder Management:
Partner with Product Managers, Data Scientists, Analysts, and Business Leaders.
Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
Present technical roadmaps, project updates, and architecture decisions to leadership teams.
Governance, Security, and Compliance:
Implement data governance, data quality, and metadata management frameworks.
Ensure compliance with security, privacy, and regulatory requirements.
Establish monitoring, alerting, and incident management processes.
