Lead Java Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Lead Java Engineer who can own the complete Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) from designing and developing APIs to deploying and maintaining cloud-native applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate should have strong backend development expertise with Java and Spring Boot, along with hands-on experience in API architecture, cloud deployment, and CI/CD pipelines.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend services using Java and Spring Boot.
Build secure, high-performance RESTful APIs following industry best practices.
Design and document APIs using OpenAPI/Swagger specifications.
Integrate applications with API Gateway solutions.
Implement authentication and authorisation using OAuth2/OIDC and JWT.
Ensure API security, reliability, scalability, and performance.
Manage the complete SDLC, including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and production support.
Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated deployments.
Deploy and manage applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.
Requirements:
Strong problem-solving and system design skills.
Experience building scalable, cloud-native backend applications.
Ability to take ownership of features from design through production deployment.
Passion for writing clean, maintainable, and secure code.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Must-Have Skills:
8-10 years of experience in Java backend development.
Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
Hands-on experience with REST APIs.
API documentation using OpenAPI/Swagger.
Strong understanding of API design principles.
Experience integrating with API Gateways.
Authentication and authorisation using OAuth2/OIDC and JWT.
Good understanding of API security fundamentals.
Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience building and managing CI/CD pipelines.
Experience handling end-to-end SDLC, including development, deployment, and production support.
Good-to-Have Skills: Apigee, Kubernetes (basics), Terraform (basics), event-driven API architecture.
