Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs is looking for a highly skilled and passionate Lead Engineer - Java to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable enterprise-grade applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java-based backend development, cloud-native architecture, microservices, and modern engineering practices. This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can contribute to architecture decisions, mentor engineers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure high-quality software delivery.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Java and the Spring ecosystem.
Lead the development of cloud-native, microservices-based solutions.
Drive architectural decisions and establish engineering best practices.
Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA, DevOps, and other stakeholders.
Ensure application scalability, reliability, security, and performance.
Conduct code reviews and mentor junior engineers.
Build and optimise RESTful APIs and distributed systems.
Participate in system design discussions and technical roadmap planning.
Implement CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
Troubleshoot production issues and drive root cause analysis.
