Agentic AI Engineer 2

Deutsche Telekom Digital Labs is looking for a highly motivated Agentic AI Engineer - 2 to design and build intelligent AI-powered applications using modern Java/Kotlin technologies. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in developing scalable backend systems and implementing Agentic AI solutions that leverage LLMs, autonomous agents, orchestration frameworks, and enterprise-grade AI architectures. You will work with cross-functional teams to build next-generation AI products that automate workflows, enhance customer experiences, and enable intelligent decision-making across enterprise platforms.
Responsibilities:
Design and develop enterprise-grade Agentic AI applications using Java and/or Kotlin.
Build AI agents capable of reasoning, planning, tool usage, and autonomous task execution.
Integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) with enterprise applications and APIs.
Develop scalable microservices and backend services supporting AI-driven workflows.
Implement orchestration pipelines for multi-agent systems and AI workflows.
Build secure RESTful APIs for AI services and enterprise integrations.
Optimise AI applications for latency, scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency.
Collaborate with product managers, data scientists, and platform engineers to deliver AI-powered solutions.
Participate in architecture discussions, code reviews, and technical design sessions.
Stay updated with the latest advancements in generative AI, agentic AI, and enterprise AI ecosystems.
Requirements:
3.6-5 years of software development experience.
Strong proficiency in Java.
Hands-on experience with Kotlin.
Practical experience in agentic AI development.
Experience integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into enterprise applications.
Strong understanding of REST APIs and microservices architecture.
Experience with Spring Boot and backend application development.
Knowledge of AI agent orchestration concepts, tool calling, memory, and planning.
Strong understanding of object-orientated programming (OOP) and design patterns.
Experience with Git and modern software development practices.
Good to Have:
Experience with LangGraph, LangChain4j, Spring AI, or similar Agentic AI frameworks.
Knowledge of Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
Experience with vector databases.
Exposure to Kubernetes and Docker.
Experience with AWS or GCP cloud platforms.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines.
Understanding of prompt engineering and AI evaluation techniques.
Knowledge of event-driven architectures (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc. ).
Preferred Qualifications:
A bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
