Software Development Engineer in Test

We are looking for an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our growing Quality Engineering team. The ideal candidate should have strong expertise in Java, REST Assured, and API Testing, with hands-on experience in building scalable automation frameworks and ensuring the quality of enterprise-grade applications. This role requires someone passionate about automation, quality engineering, and delivering high-quality software through continuous testing and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain robust automation frameworks for API testing.
Develop automated test scripts using Java and REST Assured.
Perform functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing.
Validate RESTful APIs, request/response payloads, authentication, and business logic.
Collaborate with Developers, Product Managers, and QA teams to understand requirements and define test strategies.
Identify, document, and track defects using defect management tools.
Integrate automated test suites into CI/CD pipelines.
Analyse test execution reports and ensure timely defect resolution.
Participate in sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospective meetings.
Continuously improve test automation coverage and testing processes.
Requirements:
6-8 years of experience in Software Testing/Test Automation.
Strong programming experience in Java.
Hands-on experience with REST Assured.
Strong expertise in API Testing.
Experience in designing and maintaining automation frameworks.
Good understanding of REST APIs, HTTP methods, JSON, XML, and API authentication.
Experience with Git version control.
Experience with Maven or Gradle.
Knowledge of SQL for database validation.
Strong debugging and analytical skills.
Preferred Skills:
Experience with Selenium WebDriver.
Knowledge of TestNG or JUnit.
Experience with Jenkins or other CI/CD tools.
Exposure to Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Familiarity with performance or security testing is a plus.
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
