Role Description The Production Manager is responsible for overseeing daily plant operations to ensure consistent, safe, and efficient production of Amul milk and milk products. This full-time, on-site role is based in Hamirpur and involves planning production schedules, managing shift activities, and coordinating with maintenance, quality, and logistics teams. The Production Manager monitors output, addresses process issues, and implements corrective actions to minimize downtime and wastage. The role includes supervising production staff, ensuring adherence to safety and hygiene standards, and maintaining compliance with regulatory and company guidelines. The Production Manager is expected to track performance metrics, prepare operational reports, and support continuous improvement initiatives in the plant.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong production and operations management skills, including capacity planning, workflow optimization, and resource allocation.
Candidates should possess skills in quality control and food safety, with familiarity in dairy processing standards, HACCP, and regulatory compliance.
Candidates should possess team leadership and people management skills, including supervision, training, performance monitoring, and conflict resolution.
Candidates should possess problem-solving and analytical skills to address process deviations, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
Candidates should possess communication and coordination skills for working effectively with cross-functional teams such as maintenance, procurement, and logistics.
A bachelor’s degree in dairy technology, food technology, engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with prior experience in FMCG or dairy manufacturing.
Familiarity with production planning tools, basic ERP systems, and MS Office will be beneficial, as well as willingness to work in rotating shifts when required.
