Role Description As a Video Editing Intern at Laneway, you will support the media and marketing team in producing engaging video content for digital platforms. This internship role is remote, allowing you to collaborate with team members virtually while managing your own schedule within agreed timelines. Day-to-day tasks include organizing and editing raw footage, applying basic color correction, incorporating motion graphics and text overlays, and preparing videos for social media and other digital channels. You will assist in adapting content to different formats, maintaining brand consistency, and experimenting with creative concepts that align with client and internal project goals. The role may also involve collaborating on storyboarding, sourcing royalty-free assets, and optimizing video files for various platforms and resolutions.
Qualifications
Strong foundational skills in Video Editing and Video Production for short-form and long-form content.
Ability to perform Video Color Grading and basic post-production adjustments to ensure visual consistency.
Experience or interest in Motion Graphics and Graphics for titles, lower thirds, and simple animations.
Familiarity with popular editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or similar tools).
Attention to detail, time management skills, and ability to follow creative briefs and brand guidelines.
Comfort working in a remote, collaborative environment and receiving constructive feedback.
Portfolio or sample work demonstrating video projects (academic, freelance, or personal) is highly beneficial.
Enrollment in or recent completion of a relevant program (e.g., media, film, design, communications) is a plus but not required.
