Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Territory Manager role based in Siliguri. The Territory Manager will oversee branch operations within the assigned territory, ensuring achievement of business targets, portfolio quality, and compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements. The role involves managing and mentoring field and branch teams, monitoring collection efficiency, and driving customer acquisition and retention in alignment with SCNL’s microfinance and MSME strategies. The Territory Manager will conduct market assessments, identify growth opportunities, and build strong relationships with local stakeholders, clients, and partners. The position also requires regular reporting on performance metrics, implementing process improvements, and supporting initiatives related to customer protection and gender-inclusive financial services.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong team leadership and people management skills, including the ability to motivate, coach, and develop on-ground staff.
Candidates should possess territory management and branch operations skills, including planning, execution, and performance monitoring across multiple locations.
Candidates should possess customer relationship and community engagement skills, with the ability to build trust and foster long-term client associations.
Candidates should possess analytical and problem-solving skills to monitor portfolio health, assess risks, and implement corrective actions.
Candidates should possess communication and interpersonal skills, including clear verbal and written communication in English and local languages where applicable.
Relevant experience in microfinance, retail lending, MSME finance, or financial services operations is highly beneficial.
A graduate degree in business, finance, economics, or a related field is preferred; a postgraduate qualification or MBA is an added advantage.
Willingness to travel extensively within the assigned territory and work in rural and semi-urban markets is required.
