About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

We are looking for a Group CFO / Head of Strategic Finance who will work directly with the Founder/Directors and become a key financial and strategic partner to the leadership team.
This is not a traditional accounting or compliance role.
We already work with external CA, tax, audit and corporate compliance professionals.
Your role will be to own the internal financial strategy, coordinate and monitor external advisors, identify risks and opportunities, and help management make better business and capital-allocation decisions.
You will help answer one fundamental question:
"How can Loktara deploy every rupee of capital in the most efficient way to create the highest sustainable long-term value?"
Key Responsibilities
1. Group Financial Strategy
Develop and continuously improve the financial strategy for Loktara Ventures and its operating businesses.
Build financial plans for both existing businesses and future ventures.
Advise the Founder/Board on major financial and business decisions.
Develop long-term financial models and scenarios for the group.
Establish financial systems and processes that can scale as the group grows.
2. Cash Flow & Capital Management
Monitor cash flows across the group.
Determine operating capital, working-capital and liquidity requirements.
Identify genuine surplus capital available for allocation.
Develop cash-flow optimization strategies.
Establish appropriate cash reserves and risk buffers.
Evaluate the most productive use of available capital.
3. Capital Allocation
A major part of this role will be determining where the group's surplus capital should go.
Evaluate opportunities such as:
Reinvestment into existing businesses
Expansion of existing businesses
New ventures
Acquisitions
Strategic investments
Real estate and other income-generating assets
Maintaining liquidity/cash reserves
Build financial models comparing expected returns, risk, capital requirements, liquidity and strategic value before capital is deployed.
4. Tax Strategy & Optimization
Work closely with external CA/tax advisors to develop legally compliant tax-efficient structures.
Review and challenge proposed tax strategies where appropriate.
Identify opportunities to improve tax efficiency within the law.
Evaluate the tax implications of new businesses, investments, transactions and group structures.
Ensure tax planning is integrated into business strategy rather than treated as a year-end activity.
5. Group Structure & Business Setup
Work with external CA, CS and legal advisors to evaluate:
New company/subsidiary structures
Ownership structures
Inter-company transactions
Related-party transactions
Investments between group entities
Capital movement between entities
Business restructuring
Future expansion structures
The candidate will be expected to understand the commercial objective first and then coordinate professionals to develop an appropriate compliant structure.
6. External Professional Management
Act as the internal owner/coordinator for:
CA firms
Tax advisors
Statutory auditors
Company Secretaries
Legal advisors
Banking/financial institutions
Other professional advisors
Ensure that:
Compliance calendars are maintained
Deadlines are met
Issues are escalated
Professional advice is reviewed
Recommendations are implemented
The Founder/Board has visibility over important matters
You will not simply forward emails between the company and external advisors. You will own the process.
7. Management Reporting & MIS
Develop meaningful management dashboards covering:
Revenue
Gross/net margins
Cash flow
Working capital
Profitability
Business KPIs
Budget vs actual
Forecast vs actual
Capital deployed
Return on capital
Group liquidity
Major financial risks
The objective is to help the Founder/Board understand what is happening, why it is happening and what should be done next.
8. Business & Investment Evaluation
Evaluate potential:
New businesses
Acquisitions
Investments
Partnerships
Expansion opportunities
Strategic assets
Prepare financial models and investment cases and provide an independent recommendation to management.
