Role Description The Safety Officer is a full-time, on-site role based in Sambalpur. This position is responsible for monitoring workplace conditions, identifying hazards, and ensuring compliance with relevant health, safety, and security regulations. Day-to-day tasks include conducting safety inspections, supporting occupational health initiatives, supervising adherence to safety procedures, and maintaining accurate safety records and reports. The Safety Officer will lead and coordinate safety training sessions, promote awareness of safe work practices, and collaborate with management and staff to implement corrective and preventive actions. The role also involves assisting in emergency preparedness planning and serving as a point of contact for safety-related queries and incident responses.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Health & Safety and Occupational Health skills to develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures.
Candidates should possess Accident Investigation skills to analyze incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Candidates should possess Security-related skills to support safe access control, protect people and property, and coordinate with relevant authorities when needed.
Candidates should possess Safety Training skills to design and deliver training programs, safety drills, and awareness sessions for diverse teams.
Relevant certifications or education in safety management, occupational health, or a related field are beneficial.
Ability to interpret safety regulations and standards, with strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence safe behavior and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
Experience in a similar safety-focused role, particularly in industrial, corporate, or community settings, is an advantage.
