Role Description The Workshop Manager is responsible for overseeing daily operations of the automotive workshop, ensuring efficient workflow, quality repairs, and adherence to safety standards. This full-time, on-site role is based in Baloda Bazar and includes planning and assigning jobs to technicians, monitoring progress, and managing turnaround times for all vehicles. The position involves coordinating with customers on service requirements, providing clear updates, addressing concerns, and ensuring accurate documentation of work performed. The Workshop Manager also manages inventory of tools, parts, and consumables, supervises routine maintenance of workshop equipment, and supports performance management, training, and development of workshop staff. Additional responsibilities include tracking key performance metrics, maintaining compliance with company policies and local regulations, and contributing to continuous improvement of processes and customer experience.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of automotive repair, maintenance procedures, and workshop operations management.
Experience supervising technicians, allocating workloads, and monitoring productivity and quality of work.
Ability to manage customer interactions professionally, explain technical issues in clear language, and handle service escalations.
Competence in basic administrative tasks such as job cards, service records, parts requisition, and reporting.
Familiarity with safety standards, tools and equipment handling, and implementation of health and safety practices.
Good organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize work in a busy workshop environment.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach to working with diverse teams.
Previous experience as a Workshop Manager, Service Advisor, or senior technician in an automotive setting is highly beneficial.
Diploma or degree in Automobile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field preferred; relevant hands-on experience may substitute.
Comfort with using basic computer applications or workshop management systems for scheduling and documentation.
