Position Summary
We are seeking a Software Engineer to design, develop, and maintain the group's internal applications and data systems. The role carries end-to-end ownership across backend services, web applications, and cloud infrastructure, and reports directly to the Directors.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain internal web applications and supporting backend services.
Build and operate data processing pipelines, including document-processing and AI-assisted workflows.
Manage cloud infrastructure, storage, deployment, and system reliability.
Implement appropriate controls for the handling and security of personal and commercially sensitive data.
Maintain clear technical documentation for all systems developed.
Work directly with commercial, HR, and operations teams to translate business requirements into working systems.
Essential Requirements
Minimum three years' experience developing production software in Python.
Demonstrated ability to build and deploy web applications independently, front-end through back-end.
Practical experience with a major cloud platform (Microsoft Azure preferred).
Sound knowledge of relational databases and data modelling.
Experience integrating large language model APIs into production systems.
Strong written English and the ability to communicate with non-technical stakeholders.
Desirable
Experience with document processing and structured data extraction.
Familiarity with data protection and access control practices.
Prior exposure to the oil & gas, EPC, engineering, or recruitment sectors.
