Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Cashier role based in the Pune Division. The Cashier is responsible for handling cash and electronic payments, processing customer transactions accurately, issuing receipts, and maintaining organized records of all financial dealings at the point of sale. The role includes reconciling cash and payment balances at the end of shifts, identifying and resolving transaction discrepancies, and following company policies and security procedures. The Cashier also provides courteous customer service by answering basic queries, supporting returns or exchanges according to guidelines, and coordinating with the accounts or store management team when needed.
Qualifications
Strong numerical aptitude and attention to detail, with the ability to handle cash, reconcile balances, and process transactions accurately.
Basic knowledge of accounting or retail cash management practices, including familiarity with cash registers, POS systems, or billing software.
Effective communication and customer service skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse customers and team members.
Good organizational and time management skills to manage queues, maintain records, and prioritize tasks during peak hours.
Integrity, reliability, and adherence to company policies, including confidentiality and compliance with financial controls.
Comfort with basic computer applications (e.g., MS Excel, email) and willingness to learn new systems or tools as required.
Prior experience as a cashier, accounts assistant, or in a customer-facing role in retail, banking, or services is an advantage.
Minimum educational qualification of a high school diploma; a certificate or degree in commerce, finance, or a related field is preferred.
