Position Overview
The Aircraft Group (Department D819) is seeking an experienced Test Engineer to join our team at MITC, Bangalore. In this role, you will lead end-to-end qualification and performance testing for mechanical, hydraulic, and electromechanical aerospace systems in compliance with RTCA DO-160 standards. The ideal candidate brings 3 to 5 years of hands-on testing experience, strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, and deep expertise in root cause analysis and technical reporting.

Key Responsibilities
1. Test Planning & Setup Development
Test Plan & Case Creation: Author detailed test plans and test cases aligned with RTCA DO-160 standards for aerospace products.
Setup Preparation: Independently set up test rigs, equipment, and test environments for complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and electromechanical systems.
Procedure Optimisation: Troubleshoot setup errors, refine testing procedures, and maintain clean documentation.
2. Test Execution & Performance Analysis
Multi-Level Execution: Conduct system, integration, regression, and performance testing using new and established test protocols.
Data Analysis & Reporting: Analyse test data, evaluate performance metrics, and compile comprehensive technical test reports for external and internal stakeholders.
3. Diagnostics & Root Cause Analysis
Failure Investigation: Identify test anomalies and execution failures, conducting thorough Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Issue Tracking: Document technical issues, corrective actions, and engineering solutions to ensure continuous setup reliability.
4. Cross-Functional Collaboration
Team Coordination: Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to synchronise testing schedules and activities.
Multi-Task Management: Efficiently manage and prioritise multiple testing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Qualifications & Skills
Educational Background & Experience
Education: B.E. / B.Tech or M.E. / M.Tech in Mechanical Engineering or Industrial & Production / IME.
Experience: 3 to 5 years of direct experience in a Test Engineering or similar role within aerospace or high-reliability industrial domains.
Technical & Core Competencies
Domain Knowledge: Strong mastery of mechanical engineering fundamentals, fluid mechanics, material properties, gear transmissions, bearings, and dynamic seals.
Systems Experience: Hands-on experience testing Hydraulic, Mechanical, and Electro-Mechanical systems.
Standards & Compliance: Solid working knowledge of Aerospace standards, processes, and RTCA DO-160 guidelines.
Software Tools: Proficiency in diagramming and drafting tools, including Microsoft Visio and AutoCAD.
Problem Solving: Exceptional analytical, troubleshooting, and diagnostic skills.
Preferred Certifications & Specialised Skills (Added Advantage)
Formal training/certification in RTCA DO-160 standards. Hands-on proficiency in UG / Siemens NX or AutoCAD.
Experience with MATLAB for data analysis and scripting.
