ROLE: SOCIAL MEDIA & CONTENT EXECUTIVE
JOB PURPOSE
To build and strengthen the organisation’s digital brand presence through strategic content planning, creative social media execution, campaign conceptualisation, online reputation management, website content, video and visual storytelling, event content and effective agency coordination. The role will support brand awareness, audience engagement, reputation, lead generation and admission objectives.
1. Content Strategy & Calendar Management
Prepare and maintain monthly, weekly and campaign-wise content calendars.
Plan content around admissions, student achievements, parent testimonials, academic initiatives, events, festivals, competitions, infrastructure, faculty and brand stories.
Maintain a balanced mix of brand-building, educational, engagement, informational and promotional content.
Ensure timely execution of the approved content calendar and maintain content consistency across platforms.
Develop an annual calendar covering key festivals, education days, national days and important marketing periods.
Identify relevant trends, topics, formats and content opportunities.
2. Social Media Management
Manage Instagram, Facebook/Meta, Google Business Profile (GMB) and other relevant social platforms. Plan and publish a minimum of 6 quality social media posts per week.
Develop static posts, carousels, reels, stories, short-form videos, polls, quizzes and interactive content. Monitor comments, direct messages, mentions, tags and audience interactions.
Maintain consistent brand tone, visual identity and communication standards.
3. Social Media Growth & Engagement
Develop initiatives to increase Meta and GMB followers organically.
Improve reach, engagement, profile visits, video views, shares and saves.
Analyse high-performing content and replicate successful formats.
Use contests, polls, quizzes, user-generated content and other appropriate engagement mechanisms.
Track competitor activity and identify opportunities for improved content and engagement.
Provide recommendations for improving organic social media performance.
4. Campaign Conceptualisation & Creative Planning
Conceptualise campaign themes, ideas, messaging and creative direction.
Develop concepts for admission campaigns, brand campaigns, events, festivals, testimonials, achievements, parent engagement and special initiatives.
Prepare creative briefs for internal designers and external agencies.
Develop campaign communication journeys across social media, website, WhatsApp and other relevant channels.
Ensure campaign concepts are aligned with brand positioning and business objectives.
5. Creative Design & Visualisation
Conceptualise the look, feel and visual direction of social media creatives.
Create basic creatives using Canva, ChatGPT and other AI/design tools.
Develop headlines, taglines, captions and creative copy.
Brief professional designers and agencies for advanced creative requirements.
Review creative outputs for quality, accuracy and brand compliance before publishing.
Continuously explore new AI and creative tools to improve productivity and content quality.
6. Content Writing & Communication
Draft social media captions, posts, reels, stories, WhatsApp messages, emailers, website content and campaign communication.
Create clear, engaging and audience-appropriate messaging.
Adapt communication for parents, students, prospective customers and other stakeholders.
Proofread all content and ensure accuracy, grammar and consistency.
Maintain a consistent brand voice across all communication channels.
7. Online Reputation Management & Negative Review Management
Monitor Google Reviews, Meta comments, social mentions, tags and other relevant reputation channels. Track negative reviews, complaints and customer feedback regularly.
Respond professionally and politely within defined response timelines.
8. Parent Testimonials & Video Content
Plan and coordinate parent testimonial videos and student experience stories.
Identify suitable parents/students and obtain necessary approvals.
Develop testimonial questions, concepts and basic scripts.
Coordinate shooting schedules with parents.
Create short-form video content for Reels, Stories and campaigns.
Repurpose longer videos into multiple digital assets.
Maintain an organised library of approved testimonials, photographs and videos.
9. Photography & Videography
Capture photographs and short videos during events and marketing initiatives.
Ensure major events and important brand moments receive adequate digital coverage.
Capture students, parents, teachers, activities, achievements, infrastructure and event experiences. Coordinate professional photographers/videographers when required.
Organise and maintain a digital media library for future marketing use.
Select suitable visual assets for social media, website, presentations and campaigns.
10. Website Content Management
Coordinate website content updates and planned website upgradation.
Ensure admissions, campaigns, events, achievements, announcements and important information are updated.
Identify outdated, inaccurate or missing content.
Coordinate with website developers/agencies for required changes.
Review website content and visual presentation from a user perspective.
Ensure website messaging remains aligned with current social media and marketing campaigns.
11. Event Conceptualisation & Curation
Conceptualise and curate marketing, engagement and brand-building events.
Develop event themes, concepts, activities and audience engagement ideas.
Plan event branding, communication and promotional content.
Develop pre-event, live-event and post-event content plans.
Coordinate with internal teams, vendors and agencies.
Ensure each major event produces sufficient quality photographs, videos and social media content.
12. Event Management
Support end-to-end planning and execution of assigned events.
Prepare event schedules, checklists, activity plans and content requirements.
Coordinate with vendors, photographers, videographers, designers, performers and event agencies.
Ensure event branding and communication material are executed as approved.
Support on-ground coordination and resolve operational issues within assigned responsibilities. Coordinate post-event content, documentation and reporting.
13. Agency & Vendor Management
Coordinate with creative, digital marketing, website, video, photography and event agencies.
Prepare clear briefs, timelines and deliverable requirements.
Follow up on pending deliverables and approvals.
Review agency output and provide structured feedback.
Ensure quality, consistency and timely completion of outsourced work.
Maintain a tracker for agency deliverables, revisions and deadlines.
14. Social Listening & Competitor Monitoring
Monitor competitor social media pages, campaigns, creative formats and engagement practices.
Track relevant industry trends and emerging content formats.
Monitor brand mentions, tags and public conversations.
Identify potential reputation risks and escalate them appropriately.
Share useful competitor and social media insights with the Marketing Head.
15. Social Media Analytics & Reporting
Track followers, reach, impressions, engagement, likes, comments, shares, saves, video views, Reel performance, profile visits and website clicks.
Track GMB views, actions, reviews, ratings and sentiment.
Monitor negative review volume, response time and resolution status.
Prepare weekly and monthly social media performance reports.
Identify content gaps, opportunities and corrective actions based on data.
Skills & Competencies
Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook/Meta and Google Business Profile/GMB.
Hands-on capability in Canva, ChatGPT and AI-based content/design tools.
Good content writing, copywriting, storytelling and campaign conceptualisation skills.
Basic photography, videography and video editing capability.
Understanding of social media analytics, social listening and online reputation management.
Event planning, event coordination and vendor management skills.
Strong communication, organisation, attention to detail and follow-through.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and work within deadlines.
Creative, proactive and data-aware approach.
Willingness to learn and adopt new digital, AI and content tools.
