About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
A global bank has been quietly building an India technology and operations centre for the past two years, and the India HR function, currently a team of three, needs a Manager who can own the full employee lifecycle for a headcount that is set to double this year. This bank has partnered with Flexiple to hire this role into its India centre.
The mandate
You will own HR operations, employee relations and statutory compliance for a mixed population of technology, operations and control-function employees across two India locations, reporting into the India HR Head.
What lands on this desk
End-to-end employee lifecycle management, from onboarding and confirmations through transfers and exits
Employee relations cases, including performance management and disciplinary matters, handled with the documentation rigour a regulated employer expects
Statutory compliance across PF, ESI, gratuity, Shops and Establishments and the Contract Labour Act, working closely with payroll and legal
Coordination with employee forums where they exist, and audit readiness for internal and regulatory reviews
Manager coaching on policy interpretation, calibration cycles and difficult conversations
Compliance and the fine print
Because this is a regulated bank, HR decisions here carry documentation weight: every exception needs a paper trail, every policy change needs a sign-off chain, and every audit finding needs a closure plan. You will be the person who keeps that machinery running without slowing the business down.
What we need you to have already done
Seven to ten years in HR generalist or HR business partner roles, with at least three of those inside a bank, NBFC or other tightly regulated employer. You should be fluent in Indian labour law as it actually gets applied, not just in theory, and comfortable being the person managers call when a termination gets complicated. Prior experience with a unionised or works-council population is a strong plus.
Where and how
This role is based out of Mumbai, Bengaluru or Delhi NCR, with Remote (India) available for the right candidate, though a hybrid presence is preferred given the employee-relations caseload.
Getting to an offer
Applications move through an HR screen, a case-study discussion built around a real employee-relations scenario, a round with the hiring manager, and a closing conversation with the India leadership team.
This application will also be considered for other HR leadership mandates Flexiple is currently hiring for, not only this one.
