About the role

Description supplied by the original job listing.

Who Are We (https://www.niqorobotics.com)
Niqo Robotics is a Bangalore based Agri-tech company centred on AI, Computer Vision and Robotics, revolutionizing the way farming is undertaken in India and the world. Our mission is simple – Building accessible and reliable robots for sustainable farming.
Who we are looking for
We are looking for a systems-level leader to own the hardware roadmap. You are a "Generalist-plus"—someone who views the robot as a holistic system rather than a collection of components. You prioritize deep technical innovation and R&D to maintain a competitive advantage, while leveraging vendor ecosystems for standardized, off -the-shelf components. You thrive on managing vendor ecosystems and have the player-coach mentality to lead a small, focused R&D team.
What you will be doing
Define and manage full-system hardware architecture (power, compute, sensors, actuators)
Architect complex modular systems and custom module design, focused on driving technical innovation and maintaining a unique competitive advantage
Strategically incorporate off -the-shelf (OTS) components to simplify system architecture and accelerate development cycles
Lead a lean R&D team, balancing management with hands-on technical guidance
Manage vendor and contract manufacturer relationships to ensure quality and delivery
What you need to make the cut
8+ years in embedded hardware, robotics, or complex electromechanical system design
Proven deep expertise in core hardware design and R&D
Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor a lean and high-performing engineering team
Expertise in embedded hardware (ST/ARM), electrical systems integration, CAD tools, and low/high-speed communication protocols (CAN, I2C, SPI, Ethernet, USB, MIPI, LVDS).
How can you stand out?
Experience with outdoor electronics: IP ratings, vibration, and thermal management
Experience with EMC/EMI compliance and ruggedization for field use
Proven experience bringing hardware subsystems from prototype to production
What we offer
The opportunity to work with a cutting edge Robotics AI startup
The ability to solve real world problems and make a difference that counts
A culture of openness where a lot of focus is laid on professional development and growth
A great office space at Indiranagar with a location that cannot get any more prime
If you think we could use your super-powers as we attempt to create our mark, we’d love to hear from you. This would be a great career move and an enriching learning experience for you.
Come be a part of our growth story!
