Role Description The KNX Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. This role is responsible for designing, configuring, and commissioning KNX-based automation systems for residential and commercial projects. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing project requirements, preparing KNX system layouts, programming devices, and integrating lighting, HVAC, security, and audio-visual components. The KNX Engineer will conduct on-site installation support, testing, and troubleshooting to ensure reliable system performance and user satisfaction. The role also involves collaborating with project managers, architects, and other engineers, preparing documentation, and providing basic training and handover support to clients and internal teams.
Qualifications
Solid understanding of KNX protocols and standards, including experience in configuration, addressing, and programming KNX devices using ETS or similar tools.
Knowledge of building automation systems, including integration of lighting, HVAC, security, audio-visual, and access control in smart homes, hotels, or healthcare environments.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system schematics; familiarity with low-voltage systems and safe installation practices.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills for diagnosing issues on-site, optimizing system performance, and supporting maintenance activities.
Effective communication and collaboration skills to work with project teams, contractors, and clients, including clear technical documentation and reporting.
Comfort with mobile and desktop applications for system control, configuration, and remote diagnostics; basic networking knowledge is an advantage.
Relevant technical education, such as a diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Instrumentation Engineering, or equivalent practical experience in automation.
Previous experience in home or building automation, especially with KNX or similar platforms (e.g., BACnet, Modbus), is highly preferred.
Willingness to work on-site at customer locations in Mumbai and occasionally travel to other project sites as needed.
