Role Description The Design Faculty role at BRDS Design Institute is a full-time, on-site position based in Meerut. The faculty member will plan and deliver engaging classes, workshops, and studio sessions, guiding learners through design fundamentals, concept development, and project execution. Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing lesson plans, assessing assignments and portfolios, providing constructive feedback, and mentoring learners on creativity, design thinking, and professional skills. The role also involves contributing to curriculum refinement, participating in academic reviews, coordinating with other faculty, and supporting events such as portfolio reviews, exhibitions, and entrance exam preparation sessions. The faculty member is expected to maintain a positive, inclusive classroom environment and stay current with design tools, trends, and best practices.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in design disciplines (such as communication, fashion, interior, product, or visual design) and the ability to teach core concepts, studio practice, and portfolio development.
Experience in classroom teaching, training, or mentoring, with skills in lesson planning, learner evaluation, and providing clear, constructive feedback.
Proficiency with common design tools and software (for example, Adobe Creative Suite or equivalent), and familiarity with contemporary design processes and industry standards.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and support a diverse group of learners.
Relevant academic background, such as a bachelor’s or master’s degree in Design, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, or a related field, from a recognized institution.
Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues, contribute to curriculum improvement, and participate in institutional events and outreach activities.
Demonstrated commitment to inclusive, non-discriminatory teaching practices and a learner-centered approach to education.
Prior experience preparing students for design entrance exams or professional portfolios is an advantage.
