Role Description This full-time Quantity Surveyor role is an on-site position based in Chennai. The Quantity Surveyor will prepare and manage Bills of Quantities (BOQ), assist in tendering processes, and support contract administration. Daily responsibilities include tracking and controlling project costs, preparing cost plans and budgets, and monitoring financial progress against targets. The role also involves preparing cost reports, supporting valuation and certification of work done, and liaising with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure financial transparency. The Quantity Surveyor will contribute to risk assessment, value engineering, and continuous improvement in cost efficiency across projects.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Cost Control and Cost Management to monitor budgets and ensure projects remain financially viable.
Candidates should possess practical experience in BOQ preparation and interpretation for accurate quantity measurement and tender documentation.
Candidates should possess skills in Cost Planning to develop detailed estimates, forecasts, and financial schedules throughout the project lifecycle.
Candidates should possess capabilities in Cost Reporting to produce clear, timely financial reports and communicate cost performance to stakeholders.
Relevant bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
Proficiency in MS Excel and quantity surveying or construction management software.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail.
Effective communication and collaboration skills for working with multidisciplinary project teams and clients.
Knowledge of local construction practices, materials, and regulations in Chennai or similar markets is an advantage.
