Responsibilities
Design and develop responsive, real-time Situational Awareness applications using React, TypeScript and Java/Spring Boot.
Develop secure and scalable SA Core backend services, REST APIs, WebSocket services, workflows and operational business logic using Java/Spring Boot.
Develop Kafka producers/consumers and integrate operational events, alarms, wearable events and AI-generated detections into SA services.
Develop interactive 3D plant and asset visualization using Three.js/React Three Fiber, including live overlays, alarm highlighting, contextual information and camera widgets.
Integrate PostgreSQL, Redis, central Data Lake services and Python-based AI services with the SA Core application.
Implement authentication, role-based authorization, audit logging and secure service-to-service communication using Spring Security and industry-standard security patterns.
Optimize frontend, backend and 3D application performance for concurrent users, high-frequency real-time updates and large industrial plant models.
Develop automated unit, integration and frontend tests and support functional, load, failure and recovery testing.
Containerize, deploy and troubleshoot SA services using Docker and Linux in on-premises, restricted-network and air-gapped-capable environments.
Collaborate with Data & Event Streaming, Data Lake, AI/ML and visualization engineers to define event contracts, APIs and integration interfaces.
Key Skills
• Backend: Strong Java, Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring Data JPA, REST APIs, asynchronous/event-driven programming and WebSocket development.
• Frontend: Strong React and TypeScript skills including component architecture, hooks, state management, API integration and performance optimization.
• 3D Visualization: Hands-on experience with Three.js and/or React Three Fiber, GLTF/GLB models, raycasting/object selection, overlays and large-scene optimization.
• Event Streaming: Experience integrating applications with Apache Kafka including producers, consumers, topics, partitions, keys, consumer groups and offsets.
• Data: Strong SQL/PostgreSQL skills including schema design, transactions, indexing and query optimization; Redis knowledge preferred.
• Security: Strong understanding of Spring Security, RBAC, JWT and OAuth2/OIDC concepts.
• Platform: Strong Docker and Linux skills including container deployment, networking, logging, health monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Testing: Experience with JUnit, Mockito, Spring Boot integration testing and frontend/component testing frameworks.
• Observability: Working knowledge of application metrics, structured logging and tools such as Spring Boot Actuator, OpenTelemetry, Prometheus and Grafana.
• Industrial Systems: Experience with real-time monitoring, industrial dashboards, digital twins, VMS/video integration or Oil & Gas applications is preferred.
