Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Mumbai. The Accountant will manage day-to-day accounting operations, including recording journal entries, maintaining ledgers, and reconciling bank and vendor accounts. Responsibilities include preparing invoices, tracking receivables and payables, supporting tax and statutory compliance, and assisting with monthly and annual closing activities. The role also involves preparing financial reports, coordinating with internal teams and external auditors, and ensuring adherence to company policies and relevant accounting standards. The Accountant will contribute to improving accounting processes, maintaining accurate documentation, and supporting management with financial data for decision-making.
Willing to relocate to Ethiopia.
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
Experience with accounting software (e.g., Tally, ERP systems) and proficiency in MS Excel and other office productivity tools.
Understanding of tax regulations, TDS, and compliance requirements relevant to Indian businesses.
Attention to detail, accuracy in data entry and documentation, and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate with finance, operations, and external stakeholders.
Relevant education such as a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field; professional certifications are an advantage.
Prior experience in a trading, distribution, or similar commercial environment is preferred but not mandatory.
High level of integrity, reliability, and commitment to maintaining confidential financial information.
