About the role
Description supplied by the original job listing.
We’re hiring a Senior Product Designer – AI Workflow Automation at Star Software.
We’re looking for someone who combines strong product design skills with a solid understanding of enterprise automation, AI workflows, customer discovery, market needs, and product-market fit.
Our Workflow Studio helps companies automate complex business processes such as:
• Document intake, classification, and routing
• AI extraction from MTRs, COAs, invoices, RFQs, shipping documents, engineering documents, and other business records
• Validation against specifications, standards, ERP data, and business rules
• Human-in-the-loop review and approvals
• Exception handling and escalation
• ERP integrations with platforms such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite, and Acumatica
• Supplier quality, customer quality, receiving, quoting, AP, order processing, and other enterprise workflows
• AI agents that can process information, make decisions, trigger actions, and move data across systems
We want someone who can take these technically complex capabilities and turn them into simple, intuitive, commercially valuable products that customers actually want to adopt.
What we’re looking for
• 5+ years of Product Design / UX experience in enterprise software or B2B SaaS
• Strong experience designing workflow builders, automation platforms, rule engines, process designers, AI agent interfaces, or low-code/no-code products
• Experience with triggers, actions, conditions, branching, approvals, data mapping, integrations, exception handling, and workflow monitoring
• Strong understanding of enterprise operations and business processes
• Experience conducting customer interviews, user research, usability testing, and problem discovery
• Ability to identify customer pain points and translate them into repeatable product use cases
• Strong understanding of product-market fit, market positioning, competitor analysis, and customer adoption
• Ability to distinguish between a one-off customer request and a scalable product capability
• Ability to help define which workflows should become reusable templates, packaged solutions, or platform features
• Comfortable working with Product, Engineering, AI/ML, Sales, and customer-facing teams
• Experience with ERP integrations, APIs, document AI, OCR, intelligent document processing, LLMs, or AI agents is highly preferred
Product & Market Mindset
We are specifically looking for someone who can contribute beyond UX.
You should be able to ask:
• Who is the ideal customer for this workflow?
• What problem is painful enough that they will pay to solve it?
• How frequently does this problem occur?
• Is this a repeatable market need or a custom requirement?
• What should be built into the platform versus delivered as a template?
• How should the product be positioned against existing workflow, QMS, ERP, and automation platforms?
• What will make a customer adopt the product quickly and continue using it?
Ideal background
Experience in companies or products similar to ServiceNow, Automation Anywhere, Tungsten Automation, UiPath, Workato, Appian, Nintex, Microsoft Power Automate, Kissflow, Retool, Zapier, n8n, or other enterprise automation platforms would be highly relevant.
This is not a role for someone focused only on UI or visual design.
We’re looking for someone who can combine product thinking + enterprise workflow understanding + strong design execution + market awareness to help us make Workflow Studio easier to use, easier to sell, and closer to product-market fit.
