Summary
This skilled position is responsible for safely and efficiently diagnosing, adjusting, and repairing plant equipment within an asphalt production facility. The role includes operating various types of heavy equipment such as off‑road haul trucks, loaders, and stock trucks. Additional training will be provided across multiple areas of the operation, and other duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities
Follow all safety regulations and company policies, including OSHA and MSHA requirements
Monitor operations to ensure compliance with health and safety standards and report any issues
Maintain clear communication and proper safety practices when working around co‑workers, including using hand signals and maintaining eye contact when backing equipment
Follow direction from supervisors and foremen regarding daily tasks and project expectations
Perform mid‑level cutting, welding, and fabrication work
Maintain and repair plant equipment, including conveyors, motors, bearings, and guarding
Troubleshoot mechanical issues and perform routine servicing and minor maintenance
Safely unload liquid hot oil from delivery trucks
Communicate maintenance and repair status to co‑workers and management
Assist with plant production and ensure equipment is operating efficiently
Conduct daily pre‑ and post‑operation inspections with proper documentation
Maintain and clean tools, equipment, and materials to ensure proper working condition
Requires daytime, nighttime & some weekend hours. Travel may be required within the company’s operational area
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
Valid driver’s license required
High school diploma or GED preferred
Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operational documents
Welding, torching, and mechanical aptitude strongly beneficial
Basic math skills, including working with fractions and decimals
Basic computer skills
Physical Requirements
Walk several miles per day and travel over uneven terrain
Frequently climb, balance, squat, kneel, and drive for extended periods
Occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs
