Position Overview
The Crusher Maintenance Technician is responsible for the inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of crushing and screening equipment used in aggregate production operations. This role is critical to ensuring maximum equipment uptime, operational efficiency, and safe production of high-quality materials. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, safety-focused, and experienced in working with heavy equipment in a mining or aggregate environment.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties & Functions)
Equipment Maintenance & Repair
Perform routine preventative maintenance on crushers, screens, conveyors, feeders, and associated equipment
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and perform timely repairs
Replace wear parts including liners, belts, bearings, rollers, and screens
Inspection & Troubleshooting
Conduct daily and periodic inspections to identify potential equipment failures
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues to minimize downtime
Maintain accurate maintenance records and inspection logs
Safety & Compliance
Follow all company safety policies and MSHA regulations
Participate in safety meetings, hazard assessments, and job safety analyses
Ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures are followed during maintenance activities
Plant Operations Support
Work closely with plant operators and supervisors to coordinate maintenance activities
Assist with plant startups, shutdowns, and changeovers
Monitor equipment performance and make recommendations for improvements
Welding & Fabrication
Perform basic to advanced welding, cutting, and fabrication as needed for equipment repair
Assist with modifications to improve equipment efficiency and longevity
Parts & Inventory Management
Assist in identifying and ordering replacement parts and maintaining appropriate inventory levels
Track usage of wear parts and recommend stocking levels
