Job Summary
Avon Manufacturing is a custom manufacturer of steel molds for the precast concrete industry. Each mold is made to order based on custom designs. We are looking for an experienced welder/fabricator to work with a team or independently on manufacturing molds from blueprints from start to finish.
Job Responsibilities
Embody a strong safety culture by displaying and enforcing CRH/Oldcastle safety policies and procedures
Steel fabrication of heavy gauge materials and components under the supervision of Lead Welder and Foreman
Fitting, setting, and installing fabricated structures
Maintain shop housekeeping procedures to ensure safe and well-organized work areas
Overhead crane use, to include safety and proper rigging is necessary
Operating a variety of metalworking equipment (plasma cutters, oxyfuel torch, grinders, welders, drills, punches)
Job Requirements
At least 1-3 years of welding/fabricating experience or successful completion of a welding trade school program
Capable of reading shop blueprints
Hand and power tool experience
Ability to read tape measure and perform shop math in order to calculate/copy measurements and angles
Punctuality and reliability
The ability to stand/sit/kneel/crouch
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
