Reports to: Capex & Process Engineering Manager
Role Overview: The Manufacturing Engineer will support the introduction, optimisation, and ongoing manufacture of products within the Capex product portfolio. The role is responsible for ensuring manufacturing processes are safe, efficient, cost-effective, and capable of meeting customer quality and delivery expectations. Working closely with Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Quality, and Product Management teams, the Manufacturing Engineer will lead continuous improvement initiatives, support new product introductions (NPI), and drive manufacturing excellence across the Capex portfolio.
What our new ‘Manufacturing Engineer’ will be doing:
Lead the end-to-end delivery of Capex projects, ensuring adherence to the Capex Project Delivery Framework, including business case development, project planning, steering committees, URS/FDS documentation, and DIOPQ protocols.
Develop comprehensive business cases for capital investment proposals, including ROI analysis, payback calculations, risk assessments, and benefit quantification aligned with group-level priorities.
Manage CapEx project execution on time, within budget, and to required safety and quality standards, using Gantt charts, gateway reviews, and project governance tools to control progress.
Specify, evaluate, implement, and integrate new automation technologies and manufacturing equipment, ensuring alignment with business goals, scalability, and operational requirements.
Develop specification and testing protocols, validation procedures, and commissioning plans to guarantee that all equipment and systems meet industry certifications and are reliable and fit for purpose.
