Interior Designer Intern

Job Summary:
We’re looking for a Concept Design Intern (CDI) to join our U.S. team and support the next phase of Flipspaces’ growth across the commercial interiors and real estate sector. In this role, you will combine design thinking, market research, visualization, and creative storytelling to track emerging trends across commercial spaces—including workspaces, retail, multifamily, mixed-use, data centers, warehouses, hospitality, and F&B. You will support the design and operations teams in an AI-enabled environment, contributing from early-stage conceptualization through execution. You’ll research evolving furniture, lighting, materials, automation, and experiential design trends; develop mood boards, concept decks, layouts, and visual presentations; and help translate market insights into compelling design concepts. Your work will contribute to building Flipspaces’ U.S. design knowledge base and strengthening our ability to deliver innovative, market-relevant spaces for clients. This is an opportunity for a curious and creative design student to gain hands-on exposure to live projects, emerging design technologies, and a fast-scaling U.S. business, while working closely with cross-functional design and operations teams.
Key Responsibilities:
● Research emerging furniture styles, lighting concepts, materials, and experiential design trends.
● Stay updated on trends in interior design and experiential spaces.
● Assist in conceptualising layouts, themes, and ambience for the Experience Centre.
● Explore smart lighting, automation, interactive design, and other technology-led innovations.
● Create mood boards, concept decks, and visual presentations.
● Collaborate with design and operations teams to translate concepts into actionable solutions.
● Track and document evolving interior design and experiential-space trends relevant to the U.S. market.
Requirements:
● Adobe Photoshop/ Canva/ SketchUp
● Basic knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Canva, or SketchUp.
● Familiarity with AutoCAD, Revit, or 3ds Max is preferred.
● Strong conceptualization, visualization, and creative storytelling skills.
● Good communication, research, and presentation abilities.
● Passion for interiors, design, and emerging workplace/experiential trends.
● Students from NIFT, CEPT, or equivalent design institutes are preferred.
