About the Role
Galaxy Weblinks is seeking a Senior Application & Database Architect Consultant to conduct high-level technical assessments across various client projects. You will evaluate existing application frameworks and database environments, identify technical debt, and deliver strategic recommendations to ensure scalability, optimal performance, and future-proof architecture.
Key Responsibilities
System & DB Assessment: Review current application structures, data schemas, stored procedures, APIs, and overall system dependencies.
Performance & Scalability: Analyze database growth, query efficiency, data utilization, and application responsiveness under load.
Architecture Evaluation: Compare existing relational/SQL platforms against modern alternatives (e.g., PostgreSQL, NoSQL, microservices) based on cost, performance, and maintainability.
Roadmap & Modernization: Identify technical debt and provide actionable roadmaps for system refactoring, database migration, or architectural modernization.
Stakeholder Collaboration: Partner with cross-functional technical teams and present architectural recommendations to key stakeholders.
Mandatory Skills & Qualifications
15+ years of experience in Enterprise Application Architecture and Database Engineering.
Advanced expertise in relational databases (MS SQL Server, PostgreSQL) alongside application design patterns and data modeling.
Deep hands-on proficiency in query optimization, indexing, stored procedures, capacity planning, and high availability.
Proven track record leading system refactoring, platform migrations, and database modernizations.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide objective technical justifications and architecture documentation.
Key Deliverables
