HEAD OF ACCOUNTS

About the Role
Gita Group of Companies is looking for a highly experienced, technically strong and detail-oriented Head of Accounts to take complete ownership of the Group's accounting and financial control functions.
This is a senior and critical position within the organisation. The individual will be responsible for overseeing accounting operations across multiple companies, projects and business activities and will work closely with senior management, auditors, tax consultants, bankers and internal teams.
The ideal candidate should possess deep practical knowledge of accounting, strong command over Tally and financial systems, excellent analytical ability and the maturity to independently handle complex accounting matters.
The candidate should be technology-friendly, highly organised and capable of multitasking while maintaining a high degree of accuracy and confidentiality.

Skills & Competencies Required
Essential Skills
• Deep understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Strong knowledge of the complete accounting cycle.
• Excellent knowledge of finalisation of accounts.
• Strong hands-on experience with Tally.
• Good knowledge of GST, TDS and taxation-related accounting.
• Strong reconciliation and analytical skills.
• Excellent knowledge of MS Excel.
• Ability to understand and analyse financial statements.
• Strong understanding of accounting controls and processes.
• Ability to manage multiple companies and projects.

Who We Are Looking For
This position is not intended for a routine accountant or bookkeeper. We are looking for a high-calibre accounting professional who can take complete ownership of the Group's accounting function.
The right candidate should be able to look at a ledger and understand the business behind the numbers — identify discrepancies, understand their financial implications, question incorrect accounting treatments and proactively recommend solutions.
The individual should be capable of working independently, managing multiple priorities and maintaining financial discipline across the organisation.

Qualification & Experience
• Bachelor's degree in Commerce, Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• M.Com / CA Inter / CMA or equivalent professional qualification will be an advantage.
• 8–12+ years of relevant experience, preferably with substantial experience in a senior accounting role.
• Prior experience managing accounts for multiple companies or business units is strongly preferred.
• Experience in real estate, construction, infrastructure or diversified business groups will be an added advantage.
