Role: Oracle Database Administrator
Location: Bangalore
Shift: Night shifts
Package: 10LPA max
Experience: 5+yrs
Notice period: 15 - 30days only
Seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) to support mission-critical production databases for global customers. The ideal candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years of hands-on Oracle Database Administration experience, with strong expertise in Oracle Database 19c, Oracle Autonomous Database, and Oracle Multitenant Architecture (CDB/PDB).
The role requires providing 24x7 production support during night shifts (US business hours), ensuring database availability, security, performance, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Administer, monitor, and maintain Oracle Database 19c production environments.
Install, configure, patch, upgrade, and migrate Oracle databases.
Manage Oracle Multitenant Architecture (Container Databases and Pluggable Databases).
Provision, administer, and troubleshoot Oracle Autonomous Databases (ATP/ADW) on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
Configure and administer Oracle Data Guard for High Availability and Disaster Recovery.
Perform backup and recovery operations using RMAN.
Monitor and tune database performance using AWR, ASH, ADDM, and SQL Tuning tools.
Manage database security, users, roles, privileges, and auditing.
Perform database cloning, refreshes, migrations, and upgrades.
Troubleshoot production issues and conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
Automate routine DBA activities using Shell scripting, SQL, PL/SQL, or Python.
Collaborate with application, cloud, and infrastructure teams to resolve database-related issues.
Participate in on-call support, planned maintenance, and critical production incidents.
Mandatory Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience as an Oracle Database Administrator.
Strong experience administering Oracle Database 19c in production environments.
Hands-on experience with Oracle Autonomous Database (ATP/ADW) on OCI.
Strong working knowledge of Oracle Multitenant Architecture (Container Database and Pluggable Database administration).
Experience with Oracle Data Guard, RMAN, ASM, and Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM).
Strong troubleshooting, performance tuning, backup, and recovery skills.
Experience supporting business-critical production environments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Willingness to work permanent night shifts (US Time Zone).
