Role Description The Mechanical Design Engineer will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical components and machinery aligned with agricultural and industrial applications. Day-to-day activities include creating and updating CAD models and detailed engineering drawings, performing basic calculations and design validation, and collaborating with production, quality, and procurement teams to ensure manufacturability and cost-effectiveness. The role also involves reviewing existing designs for performance improvement, supporting prototyping and testing, and preparing technical documentation and specifications. This is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, requiring close coordination with shop-floor and fabrication teams.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong skills in Mechanical Engineering and Design Engineering for industrial and agricultural machinery.
Candidates should possess expertise in Machine Design and Product Design to develop reliable, efficient, and safe mechanical systems.
Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools (such as SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar) for 2D drafting and 3D modeling.
Beneficial qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline and experience in manufacturing or fabrication environments.
Additional beneficial skills include knowledge of materials and manufacturing processes, basic tolerance and GD&T understanding, problem-solving ability, and familiarity with testing and quality standards.
Strong communication skills, ability to work with cross-functional teams on-site, and a detail-oriented, safety-conscious approach to design are highly valued.
