Role Description The Senior Design Engineer role is a full-time, on-site position based at Fiem Industries Ltd. in Hosur. In this role, the individual will lead the design and development of automotive lighting and related components, translating product requirements into robust engineering solutions. Day-to-day responsibilities include creating and reviewing CAD models and drawings, conducting design feasibility and tolerance analyses, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in R&D, manufacturing, and quality to ensure designs are optimized for performance, cost, and manufacturability. The Senior Design Engineer will support prototype development, participate in testing and validation activities, and drive continuous improvement in design processes and standards. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, coordinating with customers for technical discussions, and ensuring compliance with relevant industry and safety regulations.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong expertise in Design Engineering and Product Design for automotive or related industries.
Candidates should possess solid Mechanical Engineering skills, including knowledge of materials, manufacturing processes, and structural analysis.
Candidates should possess proficiency in Computer-Aided Design (CAD CATIA V5, UG ) tools and 3D modeling software used for product development.
Candidates should possess a good understanding of Electrical Engineering principles relevant to automotive lighting and electronic components.
Candidates should possess strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and capability to interpret technical specifications and standards.
Candidates should possess effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and OEM customers.
A bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field is preferred, along with prior experience in automotive design or manufacturing.
Experience with industry standards, validation/testing procedures, and familiarity with quality and safety certifications in automotive products is beneficial.
