Role Description The Patent Research Associate is a full-time, on-site role based in Chandigarh. The individual in this position will conduct detailed patent, prior art, and technical research across various domains to support patent analytics, litigation, and IP strategy projects. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing and analyzing patent documents, technical literature, and legal filings; summarizing findings; and preparing clear, well-structured research reports for clients and internal stakeholders. The role involves assisting with legal document preparation for IP-related matters, maintaining accurate documentation and databases, and collaborating with consulting experts and legal teams to address clients’ IP challenges. The Patent Research Associate will also communicate research outcomes, participate in internal discussions on case strategy, and support the development of customized solutions for clients’ IP needs.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Law and experience or education related to intellectual property or patent law.
Excellent Analytical Skills for reviewing patents, technical disclosures, and legal documents.
Ability to perform thorough Research using patent databases, technical publications, and legal resources.
Proficiency in Legal Document Preparation, including drafting summaries, reports, and supporting materials for IP matters.
Effective Communication skills for presenting findings, collaborating with legal and technical teams, and interacting with clients when required.
Relevant academic background such as a degree in law, engineering, science, or a related technical field.
Attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
Familiarity with patent databases and IP management tools; prior experience in IP consulting, litigation support, or patent research is an advantage.
