Research Assistant

Role Description This part-time remote Research Assistant role at BDM | Engenharia de Manutenção Industrial focuses on supporting research and data-driven projects in industrial maintenance engineering. The Research Assistant will gather and review technical and operational data, conduct literature and market research, and assist in the development of reports, presentations, and documentation for ongoing studies. Day-to-day responsibilities include organizing datasets, preparing summaries and visualizations, supporting laboratory or test-related activities in coordination with engineering staff, and maintaining accurate records in line with internal standards. The role also involves collaborating with team members via digital communication tools, providing clear updates on progress, and contributing to process improvement and innovation initiatives.
Qualifications
Strong analytical skills and data analysis abilities to interpret quantitative and qualitative information and support evidence-based recommendations.
Demonstrated research skills, including literature review, information sourcing, and structured documentation of findings.
Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to collaborate with remote teams and present research outcomes clearly.
Foundational laboratory skills or experience with technical testing environments, following safety and quality procedures when applicable.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting with good time management, organization, and attention to detail.
Proficiency with productivity and data tools (e.g., spreadsheets, presentation software, basic statistical tools); familiarity with engineering or maintenance-related software is an advantage.
Educational background in engineering, industrial maintenance, applied sciences, or a related field; current students or recent graduates are welcome to apply.
Interest in industrial maintenance engineering and willingness to learn company-specific methodologies and standards.
