Role Description This is an Independent Freight Broker role based on-site in Chandigarh, India. The Independent Freight Broker will source and manage freight opportunities, build and maintain relationships with shippers and carriers, and negotiate rates and terms to ensure profitable and efficient loads. Daily responsibilities include coordinating dispatch activities, tracking shipments, resolving service issues, and maintaining accurate records in transportation management systems. The role also involves delivering responsive customer service, managing accounts, and collaborating with the wider operations and compliance teams to meet service and regulatory standards.
Qualifications
Demonstrated skills in Freight Brokerage and Brokerage, including sourcing carriers, securing loads, and negotiating rates.
Strong Customer Service capabilities, with the ability to respond promptly to client and carrier inquiries and resolve issues professionally.
Experience in Dispatching, including coordinating pick-ups and deliveries and monitoring shipment status.
Account Management skills, with experience maintaining long-term relationships and handling multiple client accounts.
Solid understanding of North American transportation and logistics operations is highly beneficial.
Effective verbal and written communication skills in English; additional language skills are a plus.
Proficiency with transportation management systems and general computer applications (e.g., spreadsheets, email, CRM tools).
Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.
Prior experience in logistics, freight brokerage, or related fields is preferred but not strictly required.
