Role Description The Veterinarian at Caring Claws will provide comprehensive medical care to animals, including conducting physical examinations, diagnosing illnesses, recommending treatment plans, and performing routine procedures. Daily responsibilities include administering vaccinations, prescribing medications, interpreting lab results and diagnostic tests, and monitoring patient progress. The Veterinarian will also perform minor surgeries, manage follow-up care, and maintain accurate medical records. This role involves regular communication with pet families to explain diagnoses, treatment options, and preventive care recommendations in a clear and empathetic manner. The position is a full-time, on-site role based in Virar, requiring close collaboration with veterinary assistants and support staff to ensure efficient, high-quality patient care.
Qualifications
Relevant veterinary medical degree (e.g., BVSc or equivalent) and valid license/registration to practice veterinary medicine.
Strong clinical skills in animal examination, diagnosis, treatment planning, and routine surgical procedures.
Knowledge of preventive care, vaccinations, parasite control, and common small animal diseases.
Ability to interpret diagnostic tests such as blood work, imaging, and other laboratory results.
Effective communication skills for explaining medical information to pet families and collaborating with team members.
Commitment to compassionate, ethical animal care and a high standard of client service.
Ability to work in a fast-paced clinical environment, prioritize cases, and maintain accurate medical documentation.
Willingness to participate in continuing education and stay current with veterinary best practices.
Comfort with basic clinic management tasks, including coordinating appointments and supporting workflow.
Prior experience in a small animal clinic or hospital is preferred but not mandatory; new graduates with strong foundational skills are encouraged to apply.
