Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Art Research position in Mumbai. The Art Researcher will be responsible for conducting in-depth research on art pieces, analyzing market trends, and providing insights on current and future art trends. The role will involve collaborating with the team to curate auctions and contribute to the growth of Indian Art globally.
Primary Responsibilities
1. Identifying New Artist: Preparing Excel/PPT sheet for presenting to the management
2. Book Research: Sourcing, Documenting and researching books to archive paintings, publication history, comparables, exhibition history, private collections and potential sources
3. Conducting research on artworks and artists for PR, Content, and Publishing Departments on an ad-hoc basis
4. Exhibition history: Research and archiving of visual references from various artists.
5. Consigners Research: Research to find out art collectors and significant collections as potential sourcing channels.
Additional Tasks:
- Conducting research on artworks and artists for PR, Content and Publishing Departments on an ad-hoc basis.
- Capturing and analysing the auction calendar of Christie's to understand auction flow (task undertaken on behalf of IS).
- Identifying and documenting artworks for the Client Relations team.
