Role Description The Warehouse Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Chennai, responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations in a high-volume automotive components environment. This role includes planning and supervising material handling activities, monitoring shipping and receiving processes, and ensuring accurate inventory control to support production and distribution schedules. The Warehouse Supervisor coordinates team workloads, assigns tasks, and provides guidance to warehouse staff to maintain safety, efficiency, and compliance with company policies and industry standards. Responsibilities also include optimizing storage layouts, maintaining equipment readiness, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and collaborating with logistics, production, and procurement teams to meet service and delivery targets.
Qualifications
Candidates should possess strong Supervisory Skills, including team leadership, workload planning, and performance monitoring.
Candidates should possess experience in Shipping & Receiving and Material Handling to manage inbound and outbound goods flow efficiently.
Candidates should possess Inventory Control skills to maintain accurate stock records, conduct cycle counts, and support audit requirements.
Candidates should possess practical Forklift Operation skills and familiarity with other warehouse equipment, adhering to all safety protocols.
Candidates should possess knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic ERP usage for tracking materials and shipments.
Candidates should possess strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Candidates should possess effective communication and collaboration skills to coordinate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
A diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain, engineering, or a related field, along with prior experience in warehouse or plant operations, is highly beneficial.
