Role Description The Junior Civil Engineer will support the design, planning, and execution of civil engineering projects related to manufacturing facilities, infrastructure, and utilities at Wheels India Limited. This full-time, on-site role based in Chennai involves assisting senior engineers with civil engineering design, preparing drawings and documentation, and coordinating with internal teams and external contractors to ensure projects meet safety, quality, and regulatory standards. The role includes performing site inspections, collecting and analyzing data, contributing to stormwater management plans, and monitoring construction activities to ensure adherence to specifications. The Junior Civil Engineer will also help in cost estimation, scheduling, and reporting on project progress, while continuously learning and applying industry best practices.
Qualifications
Civil Engineering fundamentals, including Civil Engineering and Civil Engineering Design, with the ability to apply core concepts to practical projects.
Planning and project coordination skills, including basic scheduling, resource planning, and documentation for civil works.
Knowledge of Stormwater Management and related drainage design principles for industrial and commercial sites.
Ability to collaborate effectively with Civil Engineers and cross-functional teams in a manufacturing environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related discipline.
Familiarity with CAD tools (e.g., AutoCAD) and basic structural and infrastructure design software is an advantage.
Understanding of relevant building codes, safety regulations, and quality standards applicable to civil projects.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, with attention to detail and a willingness to learn.
Ability to work on-site in Chennai and support field activities as required.
