Role Overview
Khaitan India Ltd. is looking for a target-driven, commercially astute Area Sales Manager (ASM) to take charge of sales growth, distributor network expansion, and market penetration across two key economic hubs of Tamil Nadu: Chennai and Coimbatore.
Mandatory Criteria: This opening is strictly reserved for sales professionals with 10–12 years of hands-on experience in Ceiling Fans, Home Appliances, and LED Lighting. Candidates must possess established relationships with electrical and appliance dealers/distributors across Tamil Nadu.
The incumbent will take complete ownership of primary and secondary sales targets, lead the field sales team, enforce beat coverage, and aggressively scale counter-share across traditional retail, wholesale markets, and dealer networks.
Key Responsibilities
Target & Revenue Achievement: Formulate and execute regional sales strategies to consistently meet and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual targets (volume and value) for fans, appliances, and LED lines.
Distribution & Channel Expansion: Identify, appoint, and nurture high-performing distributors, stockists, and retail counters across Chennai, Coimbatore, and adjoining clusters (Tirupur, Salem, Erode).
Secondary Sales & Beat Discipline: Enforce strict Permanent Journey Plans (PJP) and beat discipline among Territory Executives and field sales officers to drive secondary off-take and fast stock rotation.
Commercial & Credit Governance: Manage distributor credit limits, ensure timely payment collections, oversee account reconciliations, and protect distributor ROI.
Trade Engagement & Visibility: Roll out competitive dealer incentive schemes, festive promotions, electrician/contractor meets, and retail branding to maximize counter visibility.
Depot & Logistics Coordination: Coordinate closely with local C&F depots and logistics teams to forecast SKU demand accurately, ensure timely order dispatch, and avoid stock-outs.
Market Insights: Track competitor pricing, new product launches, and trade scheme structures across electrical and appliance channels to provide actionable intelligence to senior management.
Candidate Profile
Core Industry Experience: 10–12 years of hands-on channel sales experience strictly in Ceiling Fans, Home Appliances (SDA). Applications from other industries will not be considered.
Territory Network: Strong, active trade connections with electrical, lighting, and appliance distributors/dealers in Chennai, Coimbatore, and Western Tamil Nadu.
Commercial Acumen: Strong command over trade pricing structures, dealer margins, scheme mechanics, and credit risk control.
Team Leadership: Proven track record of managing, motivating, and driving performance through on-ground field sales teams.
Language Proficiency: Fluency in Tamil and English is mandatory; working knowledge of Hindi is an added advantage.
Education: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline; an MBA/PGDM in Sales & Marketing is preferred.
