Backend Intern — Java/Spring Boot

We build financial infrastructure for Africa — collections, engagement, distribution, and agentic AI platforms that leading insurers, banks, and telcos run their business on. Six markets. Bootstrapped, cash-flow positive, growing on customer revenue.
This is a 1-year, full-time internship with a path to a full-time role for those who grow with us.
Skills we need
Solid Java fundamentals; working knowledge of Spring Boot — REST APIs, JPA/Hibernate
Basics of SQL and databases (PostgreSQL preferred); Redis or Kafka exposure a plus
At least one real project or internship where your code ran for actual users
AI-native mindset — we build daily with Claude Code and agentic tooling; you should be excited to work this way
Strong CS fundamentals: DSA, OS, DBMS, networks — the layer beneath the framework matters here
