Company Description Updatrr is an AI-first SaaS platform for Shopify that enables merchants to run commerce over WhatsApp. The product helps online stores recover abandoned carts, confirm cash-on-delivery orders, and send real-time order and payment updates to customers. Updatrr also provides AI chatbots, broadcasts, and automation tools that support faster conversions and higher customer engagement. By focusing on revenue recovery and customer experience, Updatrr empowers Shopify merchants to win back lost revenue and scale efficiently.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Shopify Developer role based in Gurgaon. The Shopify Developer will build, customize, and maintain Shopify themes and apps to support WhatsApp commerce workflows and automation features. Day-to-day responsibilities include implementing new storefront features, optimizing performance, integrating third-party APIs and Updatrr services, and ensuring cross-browser and mobile responsiveness. The role also involves collaborating with product, design, and customer success teams to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions, troubleshooting issues in production, and continuously improving the Shopify experience for merchants.
Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Shopify development, including theme customization, Liquid template language, and Shopify APIs.
Solid front-end skills in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive UI development for modern browsers and devices.
Experience integrating RESTful APIs, webhooks, and third-party services within Shopify ecosystems.
Understanding of e-commerce best practices, checkout flows, cart recovery, and performance optimization.
Ability to debug issues, write clean and maintainable code, and follow version control practices (e.g., Git).
Experience working with SaaS or product-based companies, preferably in the Shopify or broader e-commerce ecosystem.
Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with cross-functional teams on-site.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
