Company Description Updatrr is an AI-first SaaS platform for Shopify merchants, focused on enabling seamless WhatsApp commerce. The company helps online stores recover abandoned carts, confirm cash-on-delivery orders, and send timely order and payment updates. Updatrr also provides AI chatbots, broadcast tools, and automation workflows to accelerate conversions and regain lost revenue. The team is dedicated to building scalable, data-driven solutions that improve customer engagement and business outcomes for e-commerce brands.
Role Description This is a full-time, on-site Software Developer role based in Gurgaon. The Software Developer will design, develop, and maintain back-end services and APIs that power Updatrr’s WhatsApp commerce features, integrations with Shopify, and AI-driven automation. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing clean, efficient, and well-documented code; participating in architecture and design discussions; troubleshooting and optimizing existing systems for performance and reliability; and collaborating with product, AI, and front-end teams to deliver new features end-to-end. The role also involves implementing best practices for testing, security, and scalability, as well as contributing to continuous improvement of development processes and tools.
Qualifications
Strong foundation in Computer Science principles, including data structures, algorithms, and system design.
Hands-on experience in Software Development and Back-End Web Development, building and maintaining production-grade services.
Proficiency in Programming and Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), with experience in at least one modern backend language (e.g., Python, Node.js, Java, Go).
Experience working with web frameworks, RESTful APIs, and databases (SQL and/or NoSQL), and familiarity with microservices or distributed systems.
Comfort with version control (e.g., Git), CI/CD pipelines, and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS, GCP, or similar).
Ability to write unit and integration tests and follow secure coding and performance optimization best practices.
Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to collaborate effectively in a fast-paced, product-focused environment.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience; prior experience in SaaS, e-commerce, or messaging/communication platforms is an advantage.
