At HESA, we are building a strong and scalable Staples business by connecting sourcing, market intelligence, vendor networks and institutional demand across India.
We are looking for an experienced Category Head – Staples to take ownership of the category and drive it from procurement to market linkage and business growth.
🎯 Key Responsibilities
🔹 Own the Staples category strategy, sourcing and business growth across key commodities.
🔹 Lead sourcing of Maize, Broken Rice, Maida, Sugar, Oil, Rice, Pulses, Wheat, Rava, Poha and other key staples.
🔹 Build and strengthen a reliable regional vendor and supplier network through direct sourcing and mandi relationships.
🔹 Track daily mandi and NCDEX prices, market movements, availability and pricing opportunities.
🔹 Drive competitive procurement and margin improvement through effective negotiation, category planning and market intelligence.
🔹 Develop strong institutional, B2B, retail and other market linkages for the Staples portfolio.
🔹 Identify new customers, channels and opportunities to increase volume, revenue and margin retention.
🔹 Work closely with Sales, Procurement, Supply Chain, Finance and Operations to ensure seamless supply and fulfilment.
🔹 Build category MIS covering procurement, pricing, inventory, sales, margins, vendors and market opportunities.
🔹 Lead and develop the regional sourcing and market-linkage teams as the category scales.

👤 Ideal Profile
We are looking for professionals with strong experience in:
✅ Staples / FMCG / Agri-commodity sourcing
✅ Commodity procurement and vendor development
✅ Mandi / market intelligence / NCDEX exposure
✅ B2B, institutional or retail business
✅ Category management and P&L / margin ownership
✅ Strong negotiation and commercial skills
