Role Description The Branch Manager is responsible for overseeing branch operations, business development, and customer service for Star Union Dai-ichi Life Insurance at the Rajkot location. This full-time, on-site role includes managing sales targets, guiding and mentoring branch staff, and ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements. The Branch Manager will drive acquisition of new customers, deepen relationships with existing customers, and work closely with bank partners to maximize cross-selling opportunities. Daily activities include reviewing performance reports, planning local marketing initiatives, resolving customer queries, and implementing process improvements to enhance branch efficiency. The role also involves maintaining high standards of ethical conduct, fostering a collaborative team environment, and reporting branch performance to regional and corporate leadership.
Qualifications
Proven experience in branch management, sales leadership, or retail financial services, preferably in life insurance or banking.
Strong skills in business development, customer relationship management, and local market networking.
Ability to lead, coach, and motivate teams, including performance management and staff development.
Sound understanding of life insurance products, regulatory guidelines, and compliance practices.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with a focus on customer-centric solutions.
Comfort with using MIS reports, basic analytics, and digital tools to track performance and drive decisions.
Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, commerce, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification or professional certification in insurance or financial services is an advantage.
Demonstrated ability to work in a structured, target-driven environment while maintaining high ethical standards.
Familiarity with the Rajkot market or surrounding region and willingness to work on-site at the branch.
