Role Description The Manager – Plant Machinery will oversee the planning, deployment, operation, and maintenance of construction plant and equipment across project sites in Delhi, India. This full-time, on-site role includes monitoring equipment performance, ensuring optimal utilization, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize downtime. The role involves managing vendor relationships, overseeing procurement of spare parts and consumables, and maintaining accurate records of machinery, maintenance schedules, and cost reports. The manager will collaborate with project, safety, and finance teams to align equipment planning with project timelines, enforce safety and compliance standards, and support budgeting for plant operations. Responsibilities also include leading plant maintenance staff, implementing process improvements, and supporting audits and inspections related to machinery and infrastructure.
Qualifications
Strong competence in plant and machinery management, including planning, allocation, and utilization of construction equipment.
Hands-on experience in equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and coordination of preventive and breakdown repairs.
Knowledge of safety standards, statutory regulations, and environmental compliance related to construction machinery and site operations.
Ability to manage vendor and contractor relationships, oversee procurement of spares, and optimize maintenance and operational costs.
Proficiency in documentation, record-keeping, and use of basic computer applications or ERP systems for asset and maintenance tracking.
Strong leadership, team management, and communication skills to coordinate with project, safety, and finance functions.
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline; relevant certifications in plant maintenance or equipment management are an advantage.
Experience in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects, preferably with exposure to multiple types of heavy equipment and mechanized construction methods.
